One day, Maharaj-ji invited a renowned Pandit, known for his deep understanding and eloquent recitations of the Shreemad Bhagawad. The Pandit, honored yet curious, accepted the invitation and went to Kainchi Ashram, eager to share his knowledge and spiritual insights.
Upon arrival, the Pandit observed the gathering and noticed that many of the attendees were simple, unlettered villagers. Doubts began to creep into his mind. He approached Maharaj-ji and voiced his concerns, “Baba, I see that the people here are mostly illiterate. What can they possibly understand about the profound teachings of the Shreemad Bhagawad?”
Maharaj-ji, with his ever-present gentle smile, looked at the Pandit with a twinkle in his eye and responded with calm assurance, “Don’t worry, Pandit-ji. Lord Hanuman is listening.”
Maharaj-ji’s response took aback the Pandit. The simplicity and depth of Baba’s words struck him deeply. Maharaj-ji’s reminder that it was not the scholarly erudition that mattered, but the presence of the divine itself, humbled the Pandit. Realizing that his intellectual pride had clouded his vision, he immediately bowed his head at Maharaj-ji’s feet in reverence and gratitude.
